An interview with Paul Armson
My guest on this episode of the Intelligent Adviser is Paul Armson.
Paul became a Financial Adviser back in 1982. Over 35 years, he describes how he became “increasingly frustrated with the self-serving, vested interests of the financial services industry”, making it his mission to “start telling consumers the truth about money.”
He now runs Inspiring Advisers, a training resource for advisers who want to genuinely help their clients. He also organises the annual BACK2Y conference, which started as a dare from a friend but has now become a key date in the diary for forward-thinking planners in the UK and Europe.
We discuss:
The important difference between financial planning and investment advice
The impact on advisers of Vanguard’s new direct-to-consumer offering in the UK
What advisers need to do in response to the current “perfect storm” taking place in the financial advice profession
Paul’s new book, “Enough?”
Regular listeners to Intelligent Adviser also have a £100 discount on tickets to BACK2Y 2017. Listen to the podcast to find out how to claim this special offer.
