Paul Armson: Financial advisers are facing a perfect storm

For someone who believes passionately in the value of good financial advice, Paul Armson is decidedly pessimistic about the future of the profession.

Growing public awareness about the importance of costs, the threat posed by robo-advisers, increasing regulatory scrutiny and the inevitability, at some stage, of a significant market downturn, he says, have all contributed to a “perfect storm”, for which many advice firms are unprepared.

Paul is the founder of Inspiring Advisers and the annual BACK2Y financial planning conference. In this video, he gives a sneak preview of his keynote address next week at Inside ETFs, Europe’s largest ETV event.
